Action Aid International Ethiopia (AAIE) have been working on dissemination and sharing of Information through TV, FM & community radio, respectively. Targeting the information bottlenecks which the governments – whether national or local- create and sustain, the efforts of AAIE & AAITG have been critical in enabling interface between the community and the government.
 
ActionAid Ethiopia engaged with 60 partners across the country, including government institutions, with a focus to work on demand: through legal literacy and legal aid, economic literacy and budget accountability, ethics and issues of corruption. As part of this effort, legal literacy and public awareness programmes were broadcasted on the local radio in northern Ethiopia, in addition to other training programmes, dissemination of legal documents and free legal support to over 2000 women. AAE extensively employed electronics media to improve public awareness and act on existing practices and related issues regarding public service provision, unethical behaviors in some public institutions, unfair treatment of women, children and people with disabilities and people living with HIV and AIDS.

To bring these into effect National TV, Radio and FM radio were used and 21 weeks of transmission on Radio Fana and 24 weeks on the National TV reached 20% of the total population. Six months radio programme by South Region Office to teach the public the effects of unethical behavior and corruption in the public sector on social,  economic and political life of the society got positive reception from the people. The community radio transmitted to Janamora community, which is one of isolated communities in Ethiopia, has brought about significant attitudinal change regarding harmful cultural practices, misconception against women, lack of enthusiasm to send children to school. Moreover, the radio programme titled ‘Public Awareness Raising on Justice and Development’, which is sponsored by North Region Office, reached 2.5 million audiences in Tigray Regional State. The transmission ran for 52 weeks in collaboration wit Demtsi Woyane Radio PLC
